Why Support Consulting?
Have you retained a big consultant that seemed to be a clone of other big consultants? Were they selected for being innovative, brilliant, and the awards they have earned, or because you or a board member has dinner with their CEO at the country club every Friday? Did they propose new ideas and technology or are they indistinguishable from their competition? It may be time for a new approach or new takes on tried and true technologies that can be tweaked or supercharged by judiciously adding new materials, new machines, automation or AI. Maybe, instead of replacing the engine you need a new car – or vice versa or just an alternative fuel. Let us offer you a second opinion.
But why Support Consulting when they don’t know anything about my specific problem?
It is not so much what we know, but how we think. Consider how the silicon valley giants stated, or rather the people that started them, and how they solve problems. When you have a problem to solve are you going to hire someone that has been solving problems all his life, and stayed calm, collected and innovative while solving them, or do you want to hire someone who is good at regurgitating what he thinks his Professor, or Client wants to hear.
How Much Will It Cost?
We are small and not all-knowing. Do you trust your own “boots on the ground”, your own staff? With us your own people will do most of the work so you should be able to trust the data going in. Our experience is that your people, on the ground usually know more about your plant, products, problems, and opportunities, than any outsider can be expected to discover. We have no agenda, political or economic strings that can be pulled except by you. Combined, that means you will get as thorough and unbiased proposal as the people you pick to work with us, provide accurate and complete information. Taken together that is a great basis for a Superior Solution, or at least the seeds of one. That said while we are not cheap you won’t be paying corporate overhead for a large staff including multiple vice presidents, executive assistants and full-time liaison staff that have to justify their hours to pay their country club memberships. You will be paying us to come in with fresh eyes, learn what your people already know and propose what people you trust know but currently have no way to communicate. As important we will lay out the reasons why what you are doing isn’t working. Depending on the situation, and with your consent, we may bring in experts to analyze processes and make recommendations. To the extent possible our proposal will be based on science not social connections.
What Is Your Expertise.
The chief engineer (abdPhD) was trained in Civil Engineering and has worked in Air, Water and Wastewater treatment and permitting (EPA and State). While in the Military heworked in both engineering and communications. He is also a pilot and has studied aeronautics. While growing up he worked on farms and understands agriculture. He had remodeled and helped build homes including earthquake analysis and while working for a large mining company was employed as a scientist, design engineer and project engineer for a new tailings pond. He writes Science Fiction and his first novel will soon be published. He had some spare time during the lockdowns so he certified as a nutritionist and personal trainer. He has also worked in the pulp and paper industry, and as a handdyman. He has seldom met a problem he didn’t know enough about to, as a minimum, contact the appropriate specialist to help fix it. He is an innovator, understands complex problems – like what is involved in building large Solar Power Satellites using Lunar material, or simpler ones, like building a greenhouse that will survive a hurricane and inexpensive structures that will provide Near Absolute Protection including the worst tornadoes, or upgrading physical security. Above all he is honest and willing to admit “I don’t know” and ask for help, when that is the honest answer.

Why do you bring up Solar Power Satellites
Near Earth Industrialization (NEI) pertains to the volume of space above Earth’s atmosphere to beyond the Moon’s orbit. It is the volume of space that is most easily accessible from Earth and has an abundance of resources. The key to its development are the Earth-Moon Lagrange Points, the points in space one lunar radius before and after the moon, where objects will stay put. This provides two convenient locations where lunar material may be placed, stored and processed that have abundant solar power available. These are ideal locations to process material electromagnetically launched from the moon, where large solar power satellites can be built – two to 200 sq kilometer area each - before they are moved to geosynchronous Earth orbits and put in service. Anyone wanting to reduce greenhouse gas emissions should support NEI/ solar power satellites and their ability to make CO2 emitting power plants uneconomical. If you want to explore or colonize Mars, you should support NEI. Once NEI is a reality the use of lunar derived materials to make and propel the Mars mission Mothership (assuming the same Mars Direct Mission has a constant gold equivelent dollar budget) can increase the useful science done by three to six times and if the budget is doubled, could have instead of a five member crew, a crew of up to 50 could be sent in a much safer and better equipped vessel and the expedition could accomplish many times the science.
Space is inherently dangerous. The space close to Earth is especially so due to man made space debris. Every activity undertaken in space needs safety measures, backup plans and redundancy. Going into space in a way that protects the health of the thousands of workers needed to make NEI a reality and the hundreds of thousands of visitors that will visit requires sources of income that enable complex, large-scale development. This developement includes providing artificial gravity and robust radiation protection for all workers and visitors. Technology is now available to accomplish this while generating massive and increasing income.
We suggest that figuring out your company’s problems and opportunities, using the employees that you are trusting to run your operations, while not simple, is eminently doable.
